Introduction
Timolol Maleate, is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent which is used to reduce internal pressure in the eye. All visual information is collected by the optic nerve and then it is transmitted to the brain. So, varying degrees of IOP elevation causes internal pressure in the eyes and damage to the optic nerve. It is an ophthalmic which is used together with other medications for the treatment of glaucoma. Timolol Maleate is a white colored crystalline powder having no odor and is soluble in water, methanol, and alcohol. It is available for ophthalmic use under the brand name of Generic Generic Timoptic in the form of eye drops.
Generic Timoptic Drug Indications
Timolol Maleate ophthalmic eye drops are indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma which is an optic nerve disease.
Dosage & Administration
You must follow the directions of your doctor given for using the Generic Generic Timoptic ophthalmic solution. If you are using other medications for your eyes, then you must instill timolol eye drops after 10 minutes of using them. You must remove your contact lenses and instill the eye drops and should wear them
